Only 12 years old when Elvis left us, Marcus has been a lifelong Elvis fan. Marcus started performing his own
music in the late 70s and carried on through most of the 80s. In doing so, he has garnered considerable
experience in terms of songwriting and performing. In 2000, after modest attempts in small gatherings, Marcus
realized that the time was right to put his talent out there again after a few years' hiatus and start performing again, this time paying tribute to one of his (and the world's) favourite entertainers, Elvis.
Today, Marcus feels that his craft has been well honed and that it can be used to lend a helping hand and entertain others around him. Marcus readily acknowledges that Elvis had a special way about him that could easily bring a smile to even the saddest. He feels privileged to be able to carry on this legacy today, through his tribute to Elvis.
In October 2001, Marcus joined Memphis Motion, Brantford's wonderful musical group, and gained a wealth of expreience as the group's "full-time Elvis" and part-time back-up guy. Marcus left the group in 2003 to pursue a solo career but still occasionally performs with this talented bunch of women.
Since the beginning of his "Elvis" career, Marcus has been honored with the following awards: In 2001, he won second place non-pro at the Brantford Elvis Fest. In 2002, Marcus became provincial Grand Champion by winning first place in the non-pro division at Brantford and and became a Collingwood semi finalist, in non-pro as well. In 2003, Marcus finished in the top 4 at the Brantford Elvis Fest, pro category, and also received the prestigious "People's Choice Award 2003". In 2004, Marcus became Canadian Grand Champion (Concert/Vegas years - non-pro division) at Collingwood and again placed in the top 4 finalists at the Brantford Elvis Fest, pro division. Marcus has also been honored to receive several civil mentions and awards for his involvement with charity work, the most prestigious by far being a provincial citation given by Brantford MPP Dave Levac.
A family man at heart, Marcus has been married to Victoria since 2000. He became a dad in August 2002 and now enjoys very special times with both his wife and their little son Thomas. Now 3 years old, Tommy has become quite the Elvis expert and does moves his dad could never even dream of making!
