Q. How long does Marcus' show last?
A. That depends on you! Marcus is available for shows of just about any length,
from a few songs to a complete show over two hours.
Q. What Elvis period does Marcus perform?
A. Marcus specializes in recreating Elvis' last tour in 1977 but also loves doing a 60s movie-Elvis gig.
Q. 1977 Elvis, uh? Does that mean there's a jumpsuit involved?
A. Of course! Marcus owns several outfits (with more to come - they're addictive!), as follows:
70s
-Sundial (77)
-Rainbow (75)
-Black "Flying Suit" with orange, gold and yellow "leaves" (75)
-Madison Square Garden Press Conference (72)
60s
-Speedway (in blue or orange/red) (from "Speedway")
-White Tux with crossover black tie (as in the Sinatra Timex Special-style but with a white jacket)
-If I Can Dream (as in the 68 Special with white shirt and red neckerchief or similar to "The Trouble with Girls"
with a light blue shirt and white tie)
-GI Blues (from the movie "GI Blues")
50s
-Gold lamé jacket (photo coming soon)
You will find a picture of each suit (except the Gold Lamé, which will be along shortly) if you scroll to the bottom of this page. Incidentally, Marcus now has a new costume-maker: make sure you visit the web site of www.kingcostumes.com. Patricia's talent is unbelievable!
Q. Does Marcus sound ANYTHING like Elvis?
A. Sure, he does! Why not go to the "Sounds" page and have a listen?
Q. What kind of an Elvis does Marcus portray?
A. Marcus is first and foremost a singer. While some approach Elvis from a more physical angle, Marcus' performance is
anchored in his very close vocal likeness with Elvis. Marcus chose to adopt a countenance which is more akin to Elvis' later performance: an imposing physical presence,
and a show where the music and the singing take precedence over anything else.
Q. Does Marcus have a band too?
A. Yes, Marcus can perform with his 6-piece band The King's Men or with high-quality backing tracks that faithfully reproduce Elvis' own tracks. If you request a band show, please give us plenty of advance notice: the band is always subject to availability.
Q. If I want a show performed at my charity venue/wedding/birthday/corporate function, what are the technical requirements from me?
A. That varies according to the venue. If a sound system is readily available, we will use it if we can. If not, we will provide our own sound equipment.
Q. Can I put in special requests?
A. If the band is familiar with the song you want or if the track is available to him, Marcus will be happy to accommodate you. If possible, requests made well in advance are preferred.
Q. I don't want a "cartoonish" Elvis tribute. What is Marcus' approach?
A. Marcus is a lifelong fan of Elvis and the purpose of his concerts, other than to entertain you and your guests, is to pay homage to Elvis. You can be assured that in no way will Elvis be made fun of.
Q. Does Marcus walk around believing he's actually Elvis?
A. Oh, no! Most quality Elvis Tribute Artists are very much aware of the fact that they are NOT Elvis. What you would see is Marcus' interpretation of Elvis.
Q. I'm not sure I can afford this.
A. You might be surprised! Give Julie Kruzick a call at (416) 466-0235 or email her at julie@elvis-tribute.com.
Q. What if I need Marcus for charity or a fundraiser?
A. No problem at all. In fact, Marcus devotes a large part of his career to performing for charity. He's readily available to sing to tracks for fundraisers, special needs groups, etc. All charities are gratefully welcomed! Again, give Julie a call at (416) 466-0235 or email her at julie@elvis-tribute.com. Tell us a little bit more about your organization or cause and you will hear from us shortly thereafter.
Thanks!
